Riddle me this, riddle me that, who’s afraid of the big black bat?

In my mind, Batman Forever gets infinitely more stick than it deserves. It’s chucked in there with its truly horrid sequel Batman & Robin, but does it deserve it? To borrow from a famous butler, “before all this, before Batman…seven years I waited”. Well, so did we as an audience for Christopher Nolan, but did his films replace perfectly happy memories of the previous films? Alastair discusses.
